Questions and Answers:

Q.       What is the number to call to get my  Weekly Indemnity started?

A.        1-800-553-1427

Q.                What information do I need to put on an overtime grievance?

A.                 When filing an overtime grievance, in addition to filling out the grievance itself you must also attach a copy of the overtime list highlighting where the infraction occurred. Also the employee needs to attach a copy of the ANVO or letter notifying the manager that they were asking the wrong person or persons to work the overtime. If the Shop Steward does not notify the manager in advance the company is obligated only to offer the affected employee the next available overtime first.

Q.                I am thinking of putting in for a promotion.  How do I know if I may be qualified to get a certain job?

A.                 Before calling 4-6500 and putting in for a promotion, you should first read the job criteria (which can be found on the Lockheed Insight Homepage under Human Resources or on the Local Lodge 709 website).  Once you have read the criteria and feel you meet the requirements you may want to notify your Shop Steward, who in turn will notify your HR Generalist who will make your folder available to you.  Make sure your folder is complete and up to date and states clearly the experience and training you have and the amount of time you have done this type of work.

Q.                If I am bypassed for a promotion because I was deemed unqualified should I file a grievance?

A.                 No, if you were deemed unqualified by the company and the union you will be sent a bypass notice. At the bottom of the notice there will be a number of an e-mail address to contact to dispute the bypass with the company and the union (Article 4, Section 9, page 80).  If the company deems you unqualified and the Union Senior Board deems you are qualified we will automatically arbitrate the bypass on your behalf.
